From midlife onwards inflammation in the body increases. This is even more apparent in women after the menopause. ⁣
This is largely due to the drop in oestrogen and the important role oestrogen plays within the immune system. ⁣

There are many factors which can help reduce inflammation in the body – all of which I discuss in my book Food for Menopause. ⁣

But the easiest place to start is looking at what foods you can ADD into your diet. These foods all have important anti-inflammatory properties. ⁣

Remember, there is no single anti-inflammatory eating pattern or one single hero food. Generally it is an eating pattern that focuses on whole-foods, lots of vegetables and fruit, and a balance of protein, carbohydrates and fat at each meal.⁣

Merry Christmas! Wishing you an ever present joy, an abundance of love and a steadfast peace…… and everything in between that you need for this festive season to you and yours.⁣

So very conscious that this month is a tough one for so many.. I have been blessed with an abundance of sunshine, energy, love and many —— uh I needed just that moments so sharing the love in these photos. ⁣

1. Nature therapy. I lived in Capetown for 6 years and took the views for granted. What a city… and how the beautiful can become so mundane. TAG @postcardcafe⁣

2. Aunty life! So MUCH fun to be a kid again. ⁣

3. He is a huge fan though! All his teachers know about #foodformenopause

4. Lessons from toddlers. He won’t eat anything unless it’s on a plate and he is sitting down! A mindful eating reminder. ⁣

5. Gyms in South Africa win hands down. The concepts, the service…. The facilities….The space! Loved @( tag virgin active silo / Capetown) community hub concept. They have board rooms and telephone booths. What a proactive environment that supports movement. ⁣

6. Childhood in a packet. Tag @pick n pay South Africa ⁣

7. Run day. Had to stop to take this in.⁣

8. Walk day. Had to stop to take this in. ( tag @Stefano annoi PT) bag got involved in the morning movement. ⁣

9. 🫶🏽⁣

10. African print on my waistcoat means - good fortune. I want to clothe myself in that mindset everyday!⁣
